Prior to joining Kensington OH Specialists, Geoff was Managing Director of Adastral Health Ltd based in Reading – a well-respected national provider of occupational health services to a wide range of businesses.
Geoff is regarded as having excellent professional skills as an Occupational Physician. He has been successful in maintaining an appropriate balance between employers and employees when advising about occupational health issues; he shows a caring, yet thorough and robust assessment of cases and issues.
Geoff is confident in his opinion and is prepared to justify it as required. He is fair and robust, particularly in ill health retirement and insurance cases where an accurate and objective assessment of fitness for work is especially required.
His communication skills enable Geoff to develop excellent relationships with the employees he sees for assessment and advice. He has a thorough understanding of the commercial needs of businesses and can provide advice in a format that meets the needs of management. He can help managers to manage occupational health issues effectively.
He has strong arbitration ability, which is helpful in case conferences where all parties need to understand each other's problems and agree the priorities needed to progress a plan forward.
Geoff is able to help organisations to develop and implement their strategy for occupational health, with the aim of getting best value from the financial investment put into those services. He has experience of in-house and contracted out occupational health services.
He has been an examiner in Occupational Medicine and has extensive experience of supervising and teaching health professionals. Geoff teaches HR managers and line managers on occupational health issues such as stress management.
Geoff has extensive experience in providing Occupational Physician advice to NHS Trusts, police forces, fire services, councils, and private industry in the manufacturing, catering, utilities, construction and service sectors. He also has extensive experience in providing Independent Medical Examiner (IME) reports to insurance companies and the financial ombudsman. This has given him the ability to deal with almost any type of occupational health issue. He believes in being professional and giving a high quality and personal service to clients.
