Dr Bill McCulloch

Bill is an experienced occupational physician whose interests include health and safety strategy development, integration of health and safety within businesses goals, achieving value for money within health and safety, sickness absence management, and managing stress at work.
He has a broad-based clinical background from his time in hospital, general practice and working in occupational medicine; and a wide experience of hazards, management problems, company cultures, and working solutions from his time in mining, the food and drink industry, and latterly communications. He has been medical adviser to pensions trustees and has assessed disability levels for insurance claims.
For the last 20 years, Bill has worked internationally in over 30 countries with both large and small companies in health, safety and environmental roles, covering diverse issues – personal, managerial and corporate – and has also been personal coach to managers on how to address health problems.
He has published a practical book for managers on how to improve sickness absence, “Positive Attendance Management”, now in its second edition.
Bill was Global Director of Health and Safety in Vodafone – a role where he set up regimes to drive improvements in health and safety throughout the Corporation. Prior to this he held the posts of Group Director of Health, Safety and Environment for United Biscuits and Chief Occupational Physician for the Mars Corporation.
Bill was also Managing Director for Alpha One Health Care Ltd – a consultancy providing occupational health to medium and large sized businesses.
